The Great Indian Kapil Show: Vidya Balan teases Kapil Sharma saying ‘He is my neighbour and during lockdown never saw lights on in his house’
The banter started when Kapil, admiring Vidya’s beauty, quipped, “Aap jaisi biwi ho toh pati lights off hi karke rakhe… why should other people see?” Vidya was quick to respond, teasingly revealing, “Well, Kapil is my neighbor, and during the lockdown, I never saw lights on in his house. And then two kids were born during that time!” This playful dig left everyone in splits, hinting at the comedian’s quiet family life amid lockdown restrictions.
Kapil, not one to back down, retorted, “Aapko achha lagta hai logon ke ghar me jhaankte huye? Vidya ji, there were no shows going on then…” Vidya responded with a wink, “So you entertained yourself? This is how the population increased.” Kapil replied with his characteristic humor, “Mere hi do se abaadi badhi hai?”
The episode also featured special appearances by actor Rajpal Yadav, director Anees Bazmee, and Paralympic gold medalist Navdeep Singh, who shared a touching moment with Kartik Aaryan. Navdeep expressed his admiration for Kartik’s portrayal in Chandu Champion, revealing it inspired him deeply as he worked toward his goal of winning a medal for India. Navdeep also shared that a lot of hard work goes into fetching a gold for the country and whenever he gets tensed or frustrated he watches TGIKS and Kartik's films. The athlete's heartfelt acknowledgment left the cast and audience deeply moved, highlighting the powerful impact of cinema on real-life achievements.
