  • ALL ABOUT MIM

What do you cherish most from the industry and how does the "lights, camera, rolling and action" routine feel?
Honestly, my fans have given me the most. They have showered me with love and they have even honoured me with the "Meril-Prothom Alo" prize for my performance in "Amar Achey Jol". People have appreciated the various roles I played, especially of "Fuleshwari" in "Poddo Patar Jol". I think they'll remember that one for a while. As for the daily routine, I don't really feel bad about it. Sometimes the workload does take its toll as I have shoots almost every day, so there's barely any time to rest. It all becomes worth it whenever someone admires one of my performances.

How do you manage everything and how is work going nowadays?
Since I work in both television and films, I try not to distinguish as both mediums have their own set of qualities, advantages, and drawbacks. What I do is try to concentrate on the characters I have to play and that is always my first priority when it comes to taking up new work. I try to find out all the details about the character I will be playing and see if it is anything different or unique as I don't really prefer playing monotonous roles. I believe the audience will continue to accept me for as long as I can deliver to their expectations. I enjoy working in both mediums and being busy with work most of the time.

What about your co-stars? How was your experience working with them?
The ones I have worked with are wonderful and talented people and supported me brilliantly in all the productions. Ferdous Bhai is splendid and meticulous in everything that he does in his acting. I've worked with Shakib Khan for a short stint as well and he needs no introduction or description as his popularity speaks for it. Arifin Shuvo is overall impressive as a co-star as well. Emon is a very good friend of mine, so I prefer working with him.

    What inspires you?
I would say my mother is my greatest inspiration. I'm he

Akhond, who was a human resource director of a company, was reportedly killed in Friday'sterror attack in 's friend, with whom she had gone to have coffee, was rescued though.

For national award-winning Bangladeshi actress Bidya Sinha Saha Mim, it was a narrow escape from what could have been a fatal outing had she not changed her plan last minute to visit a restaurant in Gulshan instead of Holey Artisan Bakery. 'In Dhaka, I stay five minutes from Holey Artisan Bakery. For Iftar, my younger sister and I went to a restaurant in Gulshan. We even discussed visiting this very restaurant, but that was in the planning stage. We finally went to another one, which was also pretty close to where the attacks were carried out.'
Mim reached the restaurant around pm. 'We left by pmand the attacks took place around 8pm. I am still in a state of shock. I was just very lucky. Every time I watch the news, the only thought that hits me is that I, too, could have been lying in the pool of blood,' said Mim, who has acted in a Bengali film, 'Black'.
It is a similar situation with producer Himanshu Dhanuka. While in Bangladesh, he always stays in a hotel in Gulshan. 'This place is like Park Street of Kolkata. Whenever I go to Dhaka, I stay at Westin Dhaka. That's very close to the restaurant where the attacks happened. This trip with Jeet is the only exception when I chose to stay elsewhere because of some other professional commitments. I can only thank our stars for this shift of venue,' Dhanuka said.
