Typecast (band)
Filipino rock band
Typecast is a Filipino emo band from the Philippines. Originally an underground act, they surfaced on the mainstream Philippine music scene, while managing to hold on to their underground roots.
Career
Laguna has been home to hardcore punk bands since the early 1990s. Brought up in a DIY community, the band came together in 1999, initially doing cover versions, after that they started doing their own songs. In 2004, they released their debut studio album, The Infatuation Is Always There, which paved their way to become one of the most influential rock bands in Southeast Asia.
With the release of their second studio album, Every Moss and Cobweb, in 2007, the band changed their sound from gritty to melancholic lyrics that turned out to be emo.
The band broke into the local mainstream with the single "Will You Ever Learn", which won Best Song of the Year at the 2007 NU Rock Awards. This success eventually led to the opportunity to open for other popular bands such as Thursday, Darkest Hour, Good Charlotte, Saosin, Anberlin, All Time Low, Dashboard Confessional, The Used, and Cobra Starship.
In March 2013, Steve Badiola recorded a tribute to Karl Roy with Daniel Ian entitled "Missed". The track was recorded at Tower of Doom Studios.
In 2014, drummer Melvin Macatiag was removed from the band and was replaced by Sep Roño in 2015.
Typecast was released their first Tagalog song, "Mulat Ng Mata", in 2019.

Save Me Hollywood
Filipino pop punk band
Save Me Hollywood is a Filipinopop punk band formed in 2010. The band currently consists of Julz Savard, Aaron Isaac Corvera, Kenneth Wayne Aranza, Carlos Calderon, and JR Jabla.
History
The idea of forming a female-fronted band started from Carlos Calderon sharing it with former drummer Melvin Macatiag way before Save Me Hollywood came about. It was only when Calderon met Julz Savard during a taping session for a local music channel where they both worked for did the plan came into fruition. As for the band name, ‘’We never really sat down and thought the name out. Names were just shot out, at one point, “Hollywood Ending” came to mind. But we looked it up and another band already went by that name. We literally had to think of one on the spot because it was our first gig. I forgot who, I think it was either me or Melvin who spat out, “Save Me” and it just stuck.” Savard explains in an interview and thus “Save Me Hollywood” was born.

Biography Emerging from the underground music haven of Laguna, Philippines, Typecast have staked their claim at the forefront of the scene with their unique brand of aching sincerity and arresting melodies. Through unforgettable live shows, a devoted fan base, and their unrelenting DIY ethic, the band continues to shatter preconceptions of what an underground band can offer, garnering admiration from fans as well as from the bands that inspired them to forge their own path. Typecast began as a three-piece band in 1999, when founding members Steve Badiola (guitar, vocals) and Melvin Macatiag (drums) met in high school. They later recruited Chi Resurreccion (bass) and began playing shows in their hometown in Laguna. After establishing a local fan base, intense word-of-mouth and nonstop touring led the band to the hallowed halls of the Philippines' premier rock station, NU 107, and a guest spot on In the Raw, NU 107s landmark program spotlighting up-and-coming local bands. The trio recorded the barebones EP Last Time in 2002, capturing the frenetic energy and raw emotion of their live performances. Typecast continued to perform in support of the EP, eventually catching the attention of Raymond Marasigan, formerly of legendary Filipino band The Eraserheads. The year 2004 saw the release of Typecasts first full-length album, The Infatuation Is Always There. The album, produced by Marasigan, was an emotional and musical tour de force, revealing an emotional maturity and superior musicianship uncaptured by the rawness of their previous release. The aftermath of Infatuation brought more changes to the band. With little radio airplay and minimal promotion, Typecasts debut album reached unprecedented heights for an independent release, expo
