Biography[]

Early career[]

Jeon Hae-rim was scouted by an agency when she was still a senior high school student. She later graduated with a degree in&#;Bachelor of Film and Television&#;or BFTV in&#;Dankook University. “Ever since I was a little kid, I dreamed of becoming an actress. When I was a senior in high school, an agency contacted me after seeing my picture at a photography studio.” In , the actress also revealed that she had failed over auditions before her debut. “I passed my college entrance and written exams and was accepted to the department of theater and film. Before my debut, I auditioned for or so projects but didn’t get the roles.”

Jeon candidly revealed that she adopted “Ha Ji-won” as her stage name as a favor for her previous manager as it was the name of his first love. “When I was about to debut, the first

Seo Ji won was someone i&#;d never heard about until I watched an episode of the Two Yoo Sugar Man Project (find the episode English subbed below), but when I heard it, even before his story I unknowingly started bawling, I&#;m extremely emotional, I know. But something about the song really struck me hard, I don&#;t really know why.

So before I begin with information about him, listen to the song first:

Seo Ji Won- Gathering my Tears

Seo Ji Won was born on February 19, in Seoul, South Korea.

He was a Korean singer that took his own life on January 1, at the tender age of 19 years old. His second album was shortly released after this, gaining wide popularity. Gathering my Tears was the title song of this album.

Some of you may have heard the song or heard about his recently as he was referenced in the widely loved drama Reply and many people have sang covers of this song in recent years (I&#;ll link some popular covers at the bottom).

Seo Ji Won debuted in with the title song &#;Another start&#;, and from there went on to gain popularity.

Although we don&#;t know the whole reason Seo Ji Won took his life, there are writings here and there from his will and testament. One thing he wrote was &#;(maybe) he&#;d have been better off leading a normal life (as a student) in the U.S&#;

I think this line in particular really gets you to think about celebrities and &#;fame&#;. It kind of shows the pressures idols and celebrities go through to achieve fame and popularity. I guess that&#;s kind of what struck me&#; how hard it is for someone so young being put into the spotlight and having to deal with not only themselves but others too.

Another thing I wanted to address whilst talking about his story is suicide. It&#;s one of those things that really strikes me because how much must someone dislike or have no confidence in themselves that they choose their own death.

I hope you enjoy Seo Ji Won&#;s songs as much as I do and find some sentiment in his story.
